We have a National Development Strategy 2006 - 2010 with the following key initiatives:-
· a national network of Football Development Officers to offer support to schools, clubs, coaches and volunteers
· School and Club Accreditation Schemes sponsored by McDonald's to increase participation and improve the quality of provision in schools and clubs
· a broad range of training courses for coaches and volunteers. The Trust is charged by the FAW with delivering the UEFA coaching licences. Wales was one of the first associations to achieve accreditation of the UEFA Coaching Convention for the mutual recognition of coaching qualifications
Key targets by 2010 are:-
· 5,000 more boys and girls playing the game
· 60 new teams and six regional competition structures for disabled players
· 10,500 trained and active coaches working in grassroots football
· 900 schools and 550 clubs achieving quality assured provision under our accreditation schemes
· Wales winning the under 16 boys Victory Shield competition once in every four years
