The Welsh Football Trust was founded by the Football Association of Wales (FAW) in 1996. It is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. The Board comprises 14 Trustees, seven FAW representatives and seven independents.

Our role is to:-

• encourage more people - male and female - of all ages to play football
• identify and develop talented young players to support the future success of Wales' national teams in all age groups
• develop more and better qualified coaches

Our major funding partners are:-

- FAW
- Welsh Assembly Government
- Sport Wales
- Premier League

We also seek to maximise income from other sources including grants and commercial sponsorship.
