More than 50 children have enjoyed the McDonald’s Fun Football Summer Soccer Schools at Merthyr Town FC.
The children, all U12, attended six days of summer fun at the club’s Penydarren Park ground, at the beginning and middle of August.
The camps were a great success and further evidence of the great work being done to engage the community and grow the supporter-owned club.
School Development Officer Rhys Llewellyn said: “We’ve been lucky with the weather because we need to get the children out onto the pitch to play.
“When we started off, we tried a range of structured games and activities for the children but we found that playing tournaments throughout the day was by-far the most effective way of engaging them.
“Community engagement is a big focus for us and we’re hoping being part of the Fun Football programme will help us push on and our summer camps can get bigger and better next year.”
