First ever conference for women’s football
23 Jul 2010The first ever National Conference for coaches involved in women’s football is set to take place following the increasing popularity and success of the female game in Wales.
The Conference organised by the Welsh Football Trust will be held at the Village Hotel in Cardiff on 30 and 31 July with coaches from all over the country attending. The event will provide women’s football coaches with a chance to develop their coaching practice through both theory and practical sessions, whilst also helping them to revalidate their UEFA Licence qualifications.
Welsh Football Trust Technical Director Osian Roberts said: "Women’s football has recently seen a massive boost in popularity in Wales with the introduction of the Welsh Premier Women’s League last year. Swansea City ladies have qualified for the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the FAW has recently appointed a full time manager for the national teams. All of this combined with the women’s coaching conference goes to show that the female game in Wales is going from strength to strength."
