FAW Footballers with a Disability Workshop - Newport

Newport Football Development Officer James Rowberry will be running a Disability Workshop on Tuesday 14th July at Hartridge High School, Newport. Cost of the course is £20 which is 3 hours in duration.

The aim of the workshop is to provide an introduction to the organisation of practices for young footballers that have a disability in a fun, safe environment with the emphasis on skill development. The course will assist, supplement and support the coaches existing experiences in this field and will also be an ideal starting point for coaches keen to work with young footballers with a disability.

The workshop will cover the following topics, and will be theory based:

· Communication.

· Terminology.

· Health and safety.

· Equipment – adapted and disability specific.

· How to plan, organise and adapt a coaching session.

· Knowledge of disability specific player development pathways.

· Information on specific impairment groups.

Who can apply?
